  • Historic monument category B; code LMI CT-II-m-B-02849
  • Built in 1899. Architect Haralmbie Mangoianu
  • Nicolae Titlulescu Street, no. 36

The immobile was built by Take Manicatide, a very rich cereal trader (born in Giurgiu, in 1879), local leader of the Conservative Party, friend of Take Ionescu (party leader, minister and prime minister in 1921-1922), president of the Commerce Hall of Constanța, local councilor.

The house has a built surface of 931 square meters and it’s built on three levels: a basement (with 7 rooms and a saloon), a floor (5 rooms, two saloons) and an attic (with 3 rooms). The architectonic style is eclectic, with neoclassical influences, specific to the end of the 19th century. The facades were designed symmetrically, sustained on consoles with a plant motif and the main entrance has balconies above it. This entrance sustains a balcony, with the help of two grooved columns.

House Manicatide has an opening facing the modern harbor of Constanța and it used to have a direct exit towards the Casino’s cliff.
