Traian Bellu House

The lawyer Traian Bellu, a very wealthy citizen of the ciry, commissioned the building of a residence in 1913, architect and designer being, in the beginning, Anghel Saligny. The construction work is halted during the First World War and are resumed in 1920. Traian Bellu house is the largest neo-romanian immobille in Constanța, with a semi-basement, ground floor and upper floor, being a massive building, with 24 rooms, two reception halls, and a large living room.

The has numerous neo-romanian architectural elements with specific frames for the windows and entrances. A cylinder shaped tower, with a dome and a balcony, has accents of the Art Nouveau architecture, the argument for it being the long period of construction (over 15 years). Traian Bellu building represents one of the biggest and most beautiful private buildings in city of Constanța constructed in the first two decades of the 20th century.
